{"id":512,"date":"2016-11-02T20:36:30","date_gmt":"2016-11-02T20:36:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.xsofthost.com\/help\/?p=512"},"modified":"2017-09-01T12:22:51","modified_gmt":"2017-09-01T12:22:51","slug":"how-to-install-ssl-certificate-iis-8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.xsofthost.com\/help\/how-to-install-ssl-certificate-iis-8\/","title":{"rendered":"How to  Install SSL Certificate on IIS 8"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Steps to\u00a0 Install SSL on IIS 8<\/h2>\n<p>SSL Certificate installation and the CSR code generation, on IIS 7, should be done using the Internet Services Manager.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Start Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager<\/li>\n<li>Double-click on <strong>Server Certificates<\/strong> icon on the Home page.<\/li>\n<li>Hover the mouse to the Actions panel on the right side of the window and click \u201cComplete Certificate Request\u2026\u201d button.<\/li>\n<li class=\"features-ul-checklist\">Specify Certificate Authority Response contains 3 fields for modifying\n<ul>\n<li>File name containing the certification authority\u2019s response \u2013 browse through the file system to the certificate file which you have received from the certificate authority. Usually, its name looks like in this example: mydomainname_com.cer<\/li>\n<li>Friendly name \u2013 this field helps the server administrator to easily locate a particular certificate. As an example, a domain name of the certificate can be specified in this field.<\/li>\n<li>Select a certificate store for the new certificate \u2013 choose Personal from the drop-down menu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>After the fields are set properly, click OK button.<\/li>\n<li>The certificate is uploaded to the server and should appear in the storage now.<\/li>\n<li>The next step is to create a binding which allows to access the website via HTTPS.<\/li>\n<li>Hover the mouse to the <strong>Connections panel<\/strong> on the left side of IIS Manager and select a website from Sites subfolder.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate back to <strong>Actions panel<\/strong> on the right side of the window and click <strong>Bindings<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<li>Click Add\u2026 button on the Site Bindings screen.<\/li>\n<li class=\"features-ul-checklist\">Modify the following fields in the <strong>Add Site Binding <\/strong>window:\n<ul>\n<li>Type \u2013 select <strong>\u201chttps\u201d<\/strong> from the drop-down menu.<\/li>\n<li>IP address \u2013 choose the IP address or <strong>\u201cAll Unassigned\u201d<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Port \u2013 specify the port number for a secure connection.
