It&#8217;s a small set of instructions for resolving specified Internet domain names.<\/p>\n<h2>Common DNS Records<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A records:<\/strong> An A record map a domain name to an actual IP (Ipv4) address.<\/li>\n<li><strong>CNAME records:<\/strong> CNAME (canonical name) records define aliases by associating one domain name with another.Its map a domain name to another domain name.<\/li>\n<li><strong>TXT records:<\/strong> TXT records can contain any arbitrary text data. They are often used to define SPF (Sender Policy Framework) or DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) settings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SRV records: <\/strong>An SRV (Service) record points one domain to another domain name using a specific destination port.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>AAA records :<\/strong> An AAAA record points a domain to an IPv6 address.Its similar to the A record, but it allows you to point the domain to an Ipv6 address.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"Using-the-DNS-Zone-Editor-in-cPanel\">How to Create Record in Advanced Zone Editor using cPanel<\/h2>\n<p>To use the Advance DNS Zone Editor in cPanel :<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Login to <strong>cPanel<\/strong> Control Panel using your account.<\/li>\n<li>Locate <strong>Domains<\/strong> Tab in your cPanel dashboard and click <strong>Advance Zone Editor<\/strong> icon.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Advance Zone Editor Add Record <\/strong>, fill the required field as following:\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: upper-alpha;\">\n<li><strong>Type<\/strong>:select the DNS record Type from the drop down list.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Name<\/strong>:Type the fully-qualified domain name (<em>FQDN<\/em>) for the record.<\/li>\n<li><strong>TTL<\/strong>:type the time-to-live value in seconds,if you are not sure what to enter in TTL\u00a0 just type <em>14400<\/em>, which is four hours.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Address<\/strong>:If the type is an <strong>A<\/strong> record type in the address an Ipv4 IP address.<\/li>\n<li><strong>IPv6 Address: <\/strong>If the type is an <strong>AAA<\/strong> record type in the address an Ipv6 IP address.<strong><br \/>\n <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>CNAME<\/strong>:If the type is an <strong>CNAME<\/strong> record type in the address the associated canonical name for the domain name that you specified before.<\/li>\n<li><strong>TXT Data<\/strong>: If the type is an <strong>TXT<\/strong> record type the data for the <strong>TXT<\/strong> record.<\/li>\n<li>If the Type is <strong>SRV record<\/strong> : the following fields need to fill:\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-greek;\">\n<li><strong>Priority:<\/strong>Number to specify the order priority of the service.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Weight<\/strong>:Relative weight for SRV records with the same priority.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Port<\/strong>:TCP or UDP port on which the service can be found.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Target<\/strong>:The canonical host-name of the server that provide the service.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click<strong> Add Record<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>How to Remove Record from Zone File Records in cPanel<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Login to your cPanel control panel.<\/li>\n<li>Locate <strong>Domains<\/strong> Tab in your cPanel dashboard and click <strong>Advance Zone Editor<\/strong> icon.<\/li>\n<li>Under <strong>Zone File Records <\/strong>Locate the DNS record you want to delete and under <strong>Actions<\/strong> click <strong>Delete<\/strong> link.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm the deletion operation buy click <strong>Delete<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is DNS Records A DNS (Domain Name System) name server stores DNS records for a domain name.
