How to setup cPanel Directory Privacy password protection\n<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

  1. Login to your cPanel control panel using your account credentials.<\/li>\n
  2. At cPanel Home<\/strong> dashboard locate Files<\/strong> section and click Directory Privacy<\/strong> icon.\n

  3. From Directory Privacy Page you can see the list of your web directory to select any folder just click the folder name , if you want to select subdirectories click the icon (\"cpanel),once you reach the target directory you want to protect click the directory name.<\/li>\n
  4. cPanel redirect you to Security Settings Page.To start password protect the folder\u00a0 :\n

    1. Check Password protect this directory<\/strong> option.<\/li>\n
    2. Enter a name for the protected directory<\/strong>:Enter display label for the directory,This name\u00a0only<\/strong>\u00a0functions as a label for the directory. and will NOT<\/strong> change the directory name.<\/li>\n
    3. Click Save<\/strong> button.and you will get green success message Success: The access permissions for \u201cyour_folder\u201d have been set<\/em>. Click Go back<\/strong> link.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    4. Start Create User to access the protected password folder Under Create User<\/strong>:\n

      1. Username<\/strong>: enter new username to access the password protected folder.<\/li>\n
      2. New Password<\/strong>:Create a strong password for the username or click Password Generator to generate strong one.<\/li>\n
      3. Confirm Password<\/strong>:Re-type the password.<\/li>\n
      4. Click Save<\/strong> Button.<\/li>\n
      5. Once you successfully add the user you can see the users included in list under Authorized Users\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
