How to create and setup an Email Autoresponders in cPanel

What is Email Autoresponders

Autoresponder is cPanel email feature that allow you to configure and tell the system to automatically reply when a specific email address receives an email. The reason my may use it for example you are out of the office (for vacation reason) or you are creating an notification email account to communicate with your customers and you want to tell your customers that this only auto email system when they try to reply your system notification emails.cPanel control panel allow you to create an setup the Autoresponders for any email account.

How to setup email Autoresponders within cPanel

    1. Login to your cPanel account.
    2. From cPanel home dashboard , in Email section click Autoresponders link icon.


    3. From Autoresponders Page click Add Autoresponder button.
    4. Fill the requireds fields:
      1. Character Set:The standard Character set is “utf-8,” , this is character set for email encoding.
      2. Interval:Type the number of hours you want for the autoresponder to wait between responses to the same email address. For example if you set for one hour , and if someone send to the configured autoresponder  email twice within one hour the auto reply will send once.
      3. Email:type the email address without @domain part of the email account that you want to setup the auto reply option.
      4. Domain: select the domain name from the drop down list.
      5. From: you can add email address that will be displayed in the sent email ,recommended type the default account.
      6. Subject:Type the subject of the auto reply email.
      7. This message contains HTML:check this option if you want to enter html code inside the body of the email.
      8. Body: here is the body of the email message .You can add per-defined tags :
        1. %subject% :Refer  to the subject of the message sent to the autoresponder.
        2. %from% :Tag refer to the name of the sender of the message received by the autoresponder, if available.
        3. %email% : The incoming email sender’s address.
      9. Start:you can select Immediately to activate the auto -reply or Custom to specify the date time.
      10. Stop:you can select Never to never end the auto -reply or Custom to specify the date time.
  1. Click Create/Modify button. You will get green success message The autoresponder “emailaddress@domainname.tld” was successfully created. and Press Go back link , will display the list of all of your Current Autoresponders list.


Edit Or Remove Email Autoresponders

  1. Login to your cPanel account.
  2. From cPanel home dashboard , in Emails section click Autoresponders link icon.
  3. From Autoresponders ,under Current Autoresponders you can see the full list of Autoresponders emails.
  4. To Edit any email Autoresponders from action column click Edit link.
  5. To Remove specific email Autoresponders from action column click Delete link.
